Tiptoe Retreat opens its doors to the perfect minimoon getaway

The Tiptoe Retreat in the heart of Northumberland has opened its doors to two perfectly designed tree cabins. Located within 600 acres of organic and regeneratively farmed land, you'll have uninterrupted views of the River Till valley and Cheviot Hills of the National Park.

The two new cabins, Howlet (meaning 'owl') and Brock (meaning 'badger') have a distinct character and design. Both cabins sleep two guests in super king-sized beds and are created to fulfil your every dream. Highlights of the accommodation include, sleek kitchens, underfloor heating, and cosy wood-burning stoves, as well as sumptuous outdoor copper baths. Howlet boasts a living roof, while Brock features an outdoor rope balcony hammock and a skylight above the bed, perfect for stargazing!

Sustainability is at the heart of Tiptoe Retreats mission. The cabins are constructed using timber felled from Tiptoe Wood itself, milled just a few miles away, thus minimising the carbon footprint. They are powered by solar panels and air source heat pumps, with water sourced from a private borehole. Farm-to-door breakfast hampers are available to pre-order, featuring local produce such as meat from nearby butchers, eggs from local farms, and bread baked on-site and delivered fresh to your door. So, your luxurious night away will be complemented with a fresh and hearty breakfast, what a brilliant way to start the day!

If you're the sort of minimooner that likes a full itinerary while you're away, then Tiptoe Retreat have a splendid selection of activities for you. Guests can join energising Pilates sessions held in the studio or in their tree cabin, participate in bread-making and wellness workshops with Pauline Beaumont (author of Bread Therapy: The Mindful Art of Baking Bread), or enjoy dedicated retreat days.

Fishing enthusiasts can also try their hand at catching Sea Trout, Salmon, or Grayling, with expert guidance available on the River Till—a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC). For those who prefer to explore on foot, there are several circular walks along the River Till. Complete with bike rentals, this retreat has thought of everything you could need while escaping to the countryside.

Tiptoe Retreat is available from £185 per night (minimum 2-night stay).
