An Essex Wedding - September/October 2022 (Issue 106)

My dad and I danced to My Girl by The Temptations… but what my dad didn’t know is it would end with The Muppets’ Mahna Mahna , which was what we sang to each other over the phone while I was at uni. His reaction was amazing – as you can see by the photo!. They might matter to you, but not everyone will n otice them. While we waited for our evening guests, Aidan and I went to the venue’s Honeymoon Cottage with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. We spent some quiet time revelling in the day, and relaxing as husband and wife. My maid of honour had a sickness bug, so wasn’t up to reading her speech. She gave it to her husband instead, who started by saying, “I’m the maid of honour, the bride’s best friend,” which got a fair few laughs! 48
