An Essex Wedding - May/June 2023 (Issue 110)

Carrying on with the fossil theme, but also bringing in the Essex and Glamorgan county crests, English rose and Welsh daffodil – the table plan was designed and illustrated by David. The flowers had a vintage look with plenty of green foliage. Forget-menots were also incorporated for absent loved ones, but also because after Alison and David returned home after getting engaged, their front garden was awash with forget-me-nots in full bloom. Talbooth Restaurant is in beautiful Constable Country and to cap it off, it’s right on the river which meant couple could arrive to meet guests by boat. It was absolutely perfect. Favours were miniature Welsh love spoons (David is Welsh), Fortnum & Mason ‘Wedding Breakfast’ teabags (their favourite store) and forgetme-not seed packets (for the loved-ones who were absent from the day – including David’s wonderful father Ronald). Alison’s parents regularly attend St John the Baptist Church in Great Clacton. It’s over 900 years old, with a lot of history – something that attracted the history-loving couple! The reception was chosen because of the excellent food! 32
