MAIDEN MY fair Go back in time with this Celtic inspired shoot full of deep, rich hues and soft, dusky peach tones Images courtesy of Denny Wright Photography Shoot organiser and hair stylist on the day, Lisa Curtis had a vision to create a Celtic styled shoot in the historical setting, Layer marney Tower. She explains, “My inspiration came from Galadriel in Lord of the Rings, from the loosely waved hairstyle to the floaty sleeved dress and draped cape. A lot of brides are having themes for their wedding day, I wanted to inspire those brides who would opt for a castle or historical setting by creating a medieval feel. I opted for the staircase greenery, candles and the soft hues of the bouquet to deliver a dramatic feel to this shoot.” Lisa worked alongside her daughter, Ella Curtis, who planned and prepared the mood board. Lisa adds, “The hair was created by using chopsticks and a heat tool, I didn’t want to create a modern-day curl as back in medieval times it wouldn’t be possible to curl hair that way and I wanted an authentic look. The hair was then accessorised with bespoke handmade jewellery from What Katy Did Next.” 48
