March/April 2020

In these uncertain times, we're so proud of how the Essex wedding industry has pulled together to ensure couples still get their dream day. As a small gift while we're locked down at home, we're offering all of our digital titles for FREE, and we've got a fab issue for you.

I’m super-nosey so I particularly love our real wedding features (starting on page 42), and our lovely fashion editor, Claire Ridley, always has a treat with her incredible dress picks (page 78). Don’t know where to start with your wed-min? We have three whole pages of advice from local experts in our Planning SOS feature (page 65). If you’re longing for some sunshine, then we hear you! Check out our travel section (page 121) for some post-vow getaway inspo.

Downham Hall

In the heart of rural Essex and boasting panoramic views, Downham Hall is a 400-year-old Georgian manor house, which is steeped in history. Red bricks and countryside surround the venue, making it a magical and secluded spot for weddings. The breath-taking gardens and grounds are one of the venue’s many attractions.

Inside, original features such as fireplaces, high ceilings and beautiful coving are paired with elegant interior design for a high-end finish.

Once the venue receives its licence in early 2020, vows will be taken in the De Beauvoir Suite (70 guests) or the pretty Orangery (40 guests), which is flooded with natural light for gorgeous photographs.

Small receptions can be held in the hall (up to 36 guests) or in a marquee in the grounds for 120 people.

Self-care is extremely important in making sure that you stay sane whilst in the house. This comes in the form of exercise, eating-well, staying in touch but also with looking after yourself. You now have the time, more than ever, to truly give yourself a pamper.
