Raising money for GOSH
Inspired by an amazing little boy, Isaac, who has spent some time between Broomfield Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital...
We asked Colchester-based bridal designer Bibiana Cabello about the bespoke wedding dress process...
A made-to-measure garment is not just a dress, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience in which you live the process of making your dream gown. The first appointment is a chance to get to know each other and understand your requirements. After this, we sketch some designs and present them to you with a choice of suitable materials. We can also look at bespoke embroideries; many brides want something with a deep meaning to them such as stars, birds or a specific colour.
The chosen design will be materialised in toile (a cotton fabric) and the first fitting will take place so we can check the pattern and make sure you like the fit. We then cut the chosen fabric for the next fitting. This is always a very exciting stage for our customers as they see their perfect dress come to life. This is followed by usually two or three more sessions, which allow us to test the design and get it just right.
