I've some acne scaring from my teenage years. How can I cover this without my make-up looking too heavy?
Samantha says: Always make sure your complexion is clean and moisturised to give the cosmetics the best starting surface – even oily skin needs moisture. Next prep your complexion with a primer that will smooth over any problem areas, and ensure your make-up stays on all day. Opt for a concealer in pots or tubes as they are more matte and usually have better coverage than their wand counterparts.
I'd always recommend avoiding any foundations or other products that have a lot of luminosity, dewiness, or a high-shimmer content as they tend to bring out texture and really emphasise the difference between the flat and raised skin throughout the scarring. Also try to avoid highlighters.
I'd highly recommend Illamasqua Skin Base foundation as you'll look flawless to the naked eye as well as through a lens – it's a winner every time.
