Essex-based venue raises thousands for Macmillan Cancer Support

Essex-based venue raises thousands for Macmillan Cancer Support: Image 1

When Prested Hall's wedding manager Rachel Hull got married at the venue in 2009, her husband-to-be David, a carpenter, made a replica vintage Royal Mail postbox for guests to post their wedding cards in on the day. Following the wedding, Rachel gave the postbox to the venue, but requested that future couples make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support in lieu of a hire charge.

Since then, hundreds of newlyweds have used the postbox on their wedding day, and consequently a staggering £13,400 has been raised for the charity. "We chose Macmillan as the recipient charity in memory of my late grandfather Robert Clark, who died of bowel cancer in May 2008," shares Rachel.
