A very Royal welcome!

Thousands of excited royalists lined the streets of Colchester to welcome His Majesty King Charles and the Queen Consort who visited the city on March 7th.

MiliMili, the style conscious bridal boutique was keen to be part of the action, especially when they learned that his Rolls Royce would be passing the shop front on Sir Isaac's Walk.

Lauren, owner of Mili Mili tells us more!

bride waving at royal members inside black rolls royce "We were already in the boutique for a content creation day for our new dress arrivals. We were aware the King was coming to Colchester, but didn't realise he would be driving down our road until that morning when a fellow shop owner popped in to tell us the exciting news!

We thought then we couldn't miss the opportunity to get The King's attention of our boutique and thought the best way to do this was to stand out in one of the dresses.

We also were very set on capturing the Royals outside the boutique too so we put Rachel in the Jagger dress by designer Chosen by Khya and she bravely stood out in the cold waiting for the drive-by.

Myself and our Social Media Manager, Morgan, were waiting on the opposite side of the road for quite some time, ready to capture the shot and the King and Queen Consort's reaction to Rachel in the dress! Other members of the public were kind enough to keep the shop's front clear for our big moment.

As the King slowly drove past, we had a great reaction from the King who acknowledged Rachel with a huge smile and giggles. His security team and the police officers that were on duty looked most confused by the scene. We were over the moon we got the shot we wanted for our social media. Rachel was also over the moon The King had acknowledged and appreciated her standing out in the cold in a wedding dress!"

Congratulations, Mili Mili, what a historic day!
