easyJet's network at its newest base in London Southend continues to go from strength to strength. Services from London Southend to Berlin are set to take off on Mondays and Fridays from 7th November while easyJet's new connection to Grenoble will operate weekly on Sundays throughout the Christmas period from 14th December.

Grenoble is right in the heart of the French Alps and offers stunning mountain landscapes and boasts a vibrant cultural scene. Nearly 20 ski resorts surround it, which is right in the middle of four mountain chains, so it's perfect for those looking to hit the slopes.

Berlin offers a dynamic cultural scene, highlighted by landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate and an array of world-class museums and galleries. The city also boasts a lively nightlife and diverse culinary offerings making it a top city break contender.

Both are set to be especially popular with those looking to explore Christmas markets this winter.

The airline is now offering 22 routes from London Southend to leisure destinations across Europe and North Africa.

In March easyJet opened its new three A320neo aircraft base at London Southend, supporting around 1,200 jobs including 140 direct jobs for pilots and cabin crew.

With a catchment area the same size as Switzerland and around eight million people living within an hour of the airport, the opening of a base at London Southend provides easyJet with further growth opportunities in the UK leisure travel and package holiday market.

Ali Gayward, easyJet's UK Country Manager, said: "We're very pleased to be releasing even more new routes from London Southend which come hot on the heels of the launch of our new base in March. Berlin and Grenoble are fantastic destinations for winter breaks, for skiing and Christmas Markets, and both offer customers greater choice and exceptional value while we always aim to make travel easy."
