Data from owner Landsec, shows shopping sales at Braintree Village rose 14.9% year-on-year during April – June this year, as shoppers flocked to new openings such as Crocs and Belstaff. It comes as Landsec reports a strong quarter across its entire portfolio of prime retail destinations, with significant year-on-year increases in both sales and footfall, and follows a record year for Landsec across its retail destinations.

Sports and athleisure brands saw the highest boost, with a 22.3% increase in year-on-year sales, reflecting guests' growing interest in active living and stylish, performance-driven apparel. Food and beverage sales saw a 9.8% increase year-on-year, driven by alfresco diners making the most of the sunniest April – June in recorded history at the outlet's restaurants and cafes. What's more, the Essex-based outlet shopping destination saw overall footfall rise by 11.6% as guests prioritise the experience of shopping in-person.

Building on the successes of the past three months, Braintree Village has recently launched The Monster, one of the world's largest inflatable assault courses, for the summer holidays. The inflatable playground is open for adults and children* to tackle 300-metres of obstacles, including the 18-metre Mega Slide, from 10am – 9pm every day until Sunday 31st August.
