An Essex Wedding - Page number 44 - July/August 2021 (Issue 99)

Our ceremony took place at St Teresa Lisieux Catholic Church, Lexden. Ben has been going there since he was young, and it was important to us to include this aspect of his family life in our day. We enjoyed getting to know our priest, Fr. Paschal, during our wedding journey – we adored his passion. We originally planned to get married at Houchins, but this has been put on hold until we can have a bigger celebration in July 2022. Instead, we chose Milsoms for our small wedding. It’s set in beautiful grounds and we could hire a private room for our intimate reception of just 15 people.. We wanted our day to feel very traditional and elegant, and we opted for a palette of green and white. Our flowers incorporated lots of eucalyptus and gypsophila, with Ben’s mum kindly making our centrepieces to coordinate. We didn’t want to compromise on our cake, so we opted for two delicious layers of our favourite flavours: salted caramel and chocolate, as well as lemon. We loved our personalised ‘Mr and Mrs Gosling’ banner that we hung above the cake area. 44
