Instead of favours, we gave a donation of children’s toys and clothing to Tots2Teens Colchester, a local charity that helps families in need. We always wanted to use our favours to make a difference; we’ll be making an additional donation next year at our bigger celebration. I wanted a dress that made me feel like a bride, and the Marquesa by Mori Lee was perfect – simple, traditional and very bridal. I swore I’d never wear satin until I tried it on and fell in love! My nan bought my cathedral-length veil – as soon as I put it on I felt so special. For a personal touch, our place settings were handwritten cards with a photo of us on the front. Writing a personal note to everyone at our wedding was one of my favourite wed-min activities! REAL WEDDINGS 45
