November/December 2021 |
|
As we approach the end of the year, I always feel a deep sense of reflection and hope for what the new year will bring.
It’s great for our mental health and wellbeing to take a moment to ourselves, just thinking about what’s been and gone, and how we plan to accept and adapt to the ever-growing and changing directions of our lives.
For weddings after a rollercoaster 2021, 2022 has only love and positivity on the horizon. Here at An Essex Wedding HQ we’re so excited to see all the postponed weddings come to fruition, and all newly engaged couples have the day of their dreams. I think there will be numerous trends from this year that will continue; I certainly love the individual mini wedding cakes for guests – Danielle doesn’t share food! – and outdoor weddings really get couples’ creative juices flowing, teepees and llamas anyone?
Experts have said that weddings are giving friends and family a brilliant excuse for an all-out party, to dance away the blues of 2020/21, and to get together after many months apart for a true celebration. With that in mind, check out our entertainment feature over on page 85. What’s more, wedding looks are also more adventurous with the couple, the wedding party and their guests looking for a reason to dress up with a showstopping look. From page 57 we have fashion, accessory and beauty inspiration galore!
Happy planning, here’s to a bigger, better and brighter 2022!

Wivenhoe House Hotel
Found in idyllic Essex parkland and gardens, this stunning 18th-century country house hotel is nothing short of spectacular. Its magnificent façade is enhanced by the elegantly restored interiors and sweeping staircases.
Sixteen individual suites and bedrooms are located in the main house while beautiful lounges overlook the carefully restored sunken lawn. The traditional house is complemented by the modern Garden Wing, which is home to 24 bedrooms and a popular brasserie serving the best of British produce.
For nuptials, couples can opt for The Garden Suite (120 people), a contemporary setting made up of three rooms with removable partitions to make it flexible for all sizes of wedding. There are also two historic rooms in the main house; Signatures (60 guests) is a serene space with high ceilings, period features and pretty vistas; while The Drawing Room (70 guests) has an effortlessly elegant feel and can be hired in conjunction with Signatures.
For those who like the great outdoors, the Garden Gazebo is located in the Sunken Lawn overlooking 200-year-old cork oak trees. Receptions are held in the Garden Suite (120 guests) or the Drawing Room (70 guests).
When tying the knot here, newlyweds get a complimentary suite for their first night as a married couple.
