Top tips for having a low waste wedding
Getting married is one of the most exciting days of your life, and you'll want it to be as special as...
We catch up with Kirsty Lowry, owner of East Mersea Hall...
Please give us an overview of your venue and what makes it different?
We can host both barn-style weddings and tipi festivals weddings – all with exclusive use
What's your background and why did you launch your business?
I have been in the wedding industry for 10 years. Having worked at various venues, East Mersea Hall came up for sale and it was an obvious decision to re-launch weddings in this beautiful place
What's your favourite type of wedding to host?
That's a tough one! Both the barn and tipi weddings are amazing! I couldn't choose!
What's your top tip for couples planning a wedding?
BUDGET! Having a budget at the beginning of planning will make life a whole lot easier.
What's the most common question couples ask you?
I speak with my couples right the way through planning so there are a lot of questions! I suppose it would have to be recommendations on suppliers for their day. Most couples prefer someone they know their venue has worked with before so know the standard of their work and that they are trusted
How have you handled the coronavirus crisis as a business?
Most of my summer couples have now moved to 2021. For the remaining couples towards the end of the year we are holding a "just in case" date for 2021. Because we are still taking new bookings, I wanted to make sure that my 2020 couples have a date that they want should they need to postpone their day. This has eased a lot of anxiety with them and made them feel more at ease.
