Venue inspiration at Mercedes-Benz World
Historic Brooklands Museum, a wedding venue unlike any other. Whether you are looking for a small intimate...
Essex-based Rosie is the UK's first and only solar powered, vintage horse box photobooth, run on 100% renewable energy. Based in a 30-year-old horse box, Rosie has been converted by her owners Anna and Adam Prescott of Southminster, Essex.
“We wanted to take an existing concept and make it into as green a business as we could,” says Adam. “From the outset we knew we wanted to reuse as much of the original horse box as possible, and when needed, care was taken to introduce new items from environmentally friendly sources.”
But what stands Rosie apart from her competitors is the unique way she's powered. Rosie has been fitted with a solar panel covering the roof, and 250kg's of batteries. This stored power is then converted into mains power which runs the entire booth, including all the lighting inside and out. This stored power is enough to run her in total darkness for a number of hours! “We're totally off grid, this means she can literally be setup in the middle of a field,” said Anna. “We don't need a mains supply, and with our 4x4 towing we can go almost anywhere.”
With many people now turning to eco-friendly products, this little horse box is definitely getting people's attention, and if that wasn't enough, all travel incurred is also carbon offset via a tree-planting scheme in the east of England.
Rosie can be hired out for any kind of event including weddings, parties and festivals. And although based in Essex, Rosie likes a trip out to new pastures!
