The Institute theatre to screen the World Cup

The Institute, Braintree’s Grade II listed theatre, is delighted to announce it is all set to screen England’s World Cup matches this June – with free entry and no tickets required. Forget cramped pub corners, blocked views, and spilled pints – the theatre is transforming the main auditorium into the town’s very own answer to the iconic BOXPARK.

Ideal for those looking for a unique and memorable alternative to watch England's matches on a grand scale – for free – residents both local and further afield can expect the following:

A cinematic view: the theatre is screening the matches on their substantial 3x4m stage screen. That means no missing a single tackle, goal, or VAR drama.

Stadium-quality audio: a huge house sound system ensures that as well as perfect viewing, it's as if spectators are standing right in the middle of the supporter's section.

Premium comfort: no standing around for hours – the theatre is setting up banquet-style tables and chairs to ensure everyone can sit back, socialise, and enjoy games in comfort.

Fully licensed bar: this will also be fully stocked and open throughout, serving a wide selection of ice-cold beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks, and snacks.

The England Group Stage Line-Up:
Game 1 - England vs Croatia
17 June: 9pm kick off

Game 2 - England vs Ghana
23 June: 9pm kick off

Game 3 - England vs Panama
27 June: 10pm kick off

Doors open at 7pm for those aged 18 and over for the ultimate build-up. Entry is on a first come, first served basis – so spectators should arrive at 7pm for the best seats in the house!

For more information about England’s matches being screened for free at The Institute, or to arrange an interview with the Trustees Lewis Codling and Jim Hollands, please email Marketing Executive Claire Muffett-Reece on claire@theinstitutebraintree.co.uk
